Why Face Shape Matters
Face shape is what determines where and how you place your makeup — from contour to highlight, blush to bronzer.
Without knowing it, you’re simply guessing.
When you understand your structure, makeup becomes about enhancing your natural beauty — not masking it.
Round Face Shape
How to Recognize It:
• Your face is almost as wide as it is long.
• Full cheeks, with softer edges and very little angularity.
• Forehead, cheeks, and jawline are roughly the same width.
• The chin is rounded, not pointy or sharp.
Common Mistakes:
People often confuse “chubby” cheeks with a round face, but roundness is about structure — not weight!
Famous Celebrities with Round Face Shapes:
• Female: Selena Gomez, Ginnifer Goodwin
• Male: Leonardo DiCaprio (younger years), Elijah Wood
Diamond Face Shape
How to Recognize It:
• The widest part of your face is the cheekbones.
• Forehead and jawline are narrower.
• Sharp angles, especially at the cheekbones.
• Chin may be pointed, adding even more “diamond” sharpness.
Key Tips:
Diamond faces are rare and very striking.
Proper contouring softens the width at the cheeks and balances the forehead and jawline.
Famous Celebrities with Diamond Face Shapes:
• Female: Rihanna, Megan Fox
• Male: Robert Pattinson, Jesse Williams
Square Face Shape
How to Recognize It:
• Forehead, cheekbones, and jawline are nearly the same width.
• The jawline is strong, angular, and broad.
• Minimal curves — the sides of the face are straight.
• Chin is flat or slightly rounded, but still strong.
Key Tips:
Square faces can carry bold makeup looks effortlessly!
The goal is often to soften angles with blush placement or round out contour lines.
Famous Celebrities with Square Face Shapes:
• Female: Angelina Jolie, Olivia Wilde
• Male: Brad Pitt, Henry Cavill
